Different as a plus and minus, the main characters intersect at first only for work, but soon a warm relationship arises between them. They have a different approach to investigating crimes, but the goal is the same. Toot is a pig on the go -- he loves to travel and always has his digital camera at the ready. His best pal, Puddle, also likes to explore, but he looks for adventure closer to home, Pocket Hollow (sometimes called Woodcock Pocket). Puddle's cousin, Opal, is younger but every bit as interested in the world around her. Toot and Puddle's parrot pal, Tulip, is never shy about expressing her many opinions. The show is based on the series of children's books written by Holly Hobbie, who also directed episodes of the animated series.

Ham is interested in a girl named Marie and wants to impress her. First he buys a car and then he takes her out to a swanky nightclub. During the course of this disastrous date Ham realizes that Marie isn't the nice girl he thought she was: she only went out with him to make her real boyfriend jealous. The boyfriend is a dancer at the club, and when she sees him kissing his dance partner she becomes enraged and smashes up the place, while poor Ham is stuck with the bill.

On the eve of the annual Valleby Games, the competitors are injured one by one. The clues lead Jerry and Maya to a dark secret and an old myth about the games' mascot that is said to haunt the hall. Will Jerry and Maya find the solution before anyone else gets hurt and will their friendship survive the trials?
